McMinnville has the kind of downtown you can spend hours wandering — historic storefronts filled with boutiques, antique shops, coffee spots, and locally owned restaurants, plus self-serve kayak rentals called ‘The Hive’ just off the town square. See Food & Drink for our favorite local spots.

Small-batch craft whisky on a 400-acre working farm with real history — Prohibition-era roots, ties to the mob, and even a local murder mystery. Tastings, distillery tours, and a frisbee golf course (BYOF). A beautiful spot on the Tennessee whisky trail.

Our favorite park in Tennessee — multiple waterfalls, swimming holes, and hikes. Twin Falls is a great spot to start; you can drive right up to this stunning waterfall or take a short hike, and you’ll find plenty of spots along the river for boulder hopping, exploring, and wandering up toward additional falls and trails.

Some swimming spots are off-limits — check before you wade in. On the way home, hit Foglight Foodhouse and the local antique stores.

Center Hill Lake is one of Middle Tennessee’s most scenic lakes — known for clear, deep blue-green water and a quieter, more natural feel than many busier lakes nearby. Sligo Marina and Hurricane Marina both have lakefront restaurants, pontoon rentals, and often live music on weekends — check their Instagrams for events.
