This Privacy Policy describes how Taming Lions, LLC, doing business as Short Mountain Holiday ("Short Mountain Holiday," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and protects information in connection with our website shortmountain.holiday, our booking inquiries, and our internal business systems. Taming Lions, LLC operates a luxury geodesic dome retreat on 30 acres in Cannon County, Tennessee.

Information We Collect

• Contact and inquiry submissions: When you submit our inquiry form, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message. These submissions are processed through Netlify Forms and stored in our Netlify dashboard so we can respond to you.
• Analytics data: We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), loaded via Google Tag Manager, to understand how visitors interact with our website. This includes pages visited, time spent on the site, referring URLs, approximate geographic location, device type, and browser information.
• Cookies: Google Analytics uses cookies to collect anonymous usage data. These are small text files stored on your device that help us understand traffic patterns.
• Internal accounting data: Through our private QuickBooks Online integration, we access the company's own accounting records for internal bookkeeping. See the QuickBooks Online Integration section below for full detail.

• HolidayFuture / Hostaway: Our booking engine operates on a separate platform. When you click a booking link and proceed to reserve a stay, HolidayFuture's privacy policy applies to the information you provide during booking. Our website does not collect booking or payment information.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to enforce our agreements, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Taming Lions, LLC, our guests, or others.

QuickBooks Online Integration

Taming Lions, LLC operates a private integration with Intuit's QuickBooks Online for its own internal bookkeeping only. This is a private, internal-use integration — it is not a product, service, or feature offered to or used by any third party, and no third-party or guest data is processed through it.

• What it accesses: Using Intuit's API under the com.intuit.quickbooks.accounting scope, the integration accesses the company's own QuickBooks Online accounting data, including the chart of accounts, transactions, and expenses.
• How we use it: The data is used solely to automate expense categorization within the company's own books. It supports our internal accounting and is not used for marketing, advertising, or any guest-facing purpose.
• Sharing: Accounting data accessed through this integration is not sold and not shared with third parties for their own purposes. Transaction details (such as descriptions and amounts) may be processed by our AI provider (Anthropic) solely to suggest expense categories for our internal review queue; this data is not sold or used for any other purpose.
• Storage and access: The data is stored securely, and access is limited to authorized personnel of Taming Lions, LLC who need it to maintain the company's books.
• Retention: Data accessed through the integration is retained only as long as needed for internal bookkeeping and is deleted or de-identified when no longer required.
• Intuit's role: Intuit's own privacy policy governs Intuit's handling of QuickBooks Online data. See the Intuit Privacy Statement.

Data Security

Our website is served over HTTPS, so data transmitted between your browser and our site is encrypted. Contact form submissions are securely processed by Netlify. Accounting data accessed through the QuickBooks Online integration is handled over secured connections and protected through Intuit's authorization model, with access limited to authorized personnel. We do not store payment card details on our website. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect information under our control.

Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy: inquiry submissions are kept while we correspond with you and for a reasonable period thereafter; analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics configuration; and accounting data accessed through the QuickBooks Online integration is retained only as needed for internal bookkeeping. You may request deletion of your information at any time as described below.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Opt out of analytics: Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to prevent your data from being collected by GA4, or disable cookies in your browser settings.
• Request data deletion: If you have submitted a contact form and would like your information removed, email us at hello@shortmountainholiday.com and we will delete your submission.
• Access your data: Contact us to request a copy of any personal information we hold about you.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws. We honor valid requests to the extent required by law.

Children's Privacy

Our website and services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
